How do I get started?

To get started, you can use the web or download our iOS or Android app. Then register your phone number (for call notifications), and set a stock alarm based on whatever conditions your heart desires.

Are the stock and crypto prices real time?

Yes, all stock and crypto prices are streamed in real time during regular and extended trading hours. Nasdaq stocks may have delayed quotes only during extended hours trading.

What triggers are supported?

Our comprehensive platform offers 125+ types of triggers (and we're adding more!). A few examples of our alert types are:

Price limit alerts

Price change alerts

  • 1-day price change target – triggered when the stock price changes by a set amount or more from the market opening price
  • Price change from current – triggered when the price changes by a set amount from the current price
  • Price increase from current – triggered when the price increases by a set amount from the current price
  • Price decrease from current – triggered when the price decreases by a set amount from the current price
  • Closing price change from current – trigger when the closing stock price changes by a set amount or more in the selected direction from the current price. For instance, setting a $5 change alert with direction "Increase or decrease" will trigger any day the closing price is $5 higher or lower than the current price.
  • Price decrease from current – triggered when the price decreases by a set amount from the current price

Percent change alerts

  • 1-day percent change target – triggered when the stock price changes by a set percentage or more from the price at market open. For instance, setting a 2% change alert will trigger any day the price is 2% higher or lower than that days market open price
  • Percent change from current – triggered when the price changes by a set percentage compared to the current price
  • Percent change increase from current – triggered when the price increases by a set percentage compared to the current price
  • Percent change decreate from current – triggered when the price decreases by a set percentage compared to the current price
  • Closing percent change from current – triggered when the closing stock price changes by a set percentage or more in the selected direction from the current price. For instance, setting a 2% change alert with direction "Increase or decrease" will trigger any day the closing price is 2% higher or lower than the current price

Recurring time alerts

  • Opening price alert – will notify you daily with the opening price of a stock or crypto
  • Mid-day price alert – will notify you daily with the price of a stock or crypto at 12:30 EST
  • Closing price alert – will notify you daily with the closing price of a stock or crypto
  • Interval alert – will notify you on a specified interval (15 min, 30 min, 1 hour) with the latest price of a stock or crypto

Trailing alerts

  • Trailing price stop loss alert – triggered when the price of the asset moves below the stop limit threshold initially set at a set amount below the latest price. The threshold moves with the market price, and continually recalculates the stop trigger price at a fixed amount below the market price
  • Trailing percent stop loss alert – triggered when the price of the asset moves below the stop limit threshold initially set at a set amount below the latest price. The threshold moves with the market price, and continually recalculates the stop trigger price at a fixed amount below the market price
  • Trailing buy stop price alert – triggered when the price of the asset moves above the buy stop limit threshold initially set at a set amount above the latest price. The threshold moves with the market price, and continually recalculates the stop trigger price at a fixed amount above the market price
  • Trailing buy stop percent alert – triggered when the price of the asset moves above the stop limit threshold initially set at a set amount above the latest price. The threshold moves with the market price, and continually recalculates the stop trigger price at a fixed amount above the market price

Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) alerts

  • MACD limit target alert – triggered when the MACD crosses the set limit
  • MACD bearish crossover alert – triggered when a bearish crossover occurs. This is when the MACD is below than the MACD Signal line indicating a shift in momentum
  • MACD bullish crossover alert – triggered when a bullish crossover occurs. This is when the MACD is above than the MACD Signal line indicating a shift in momentum

Relative Strength Index (RSI) alerts

  • RSI limit target alert – triggered when the RSI value crosses the set limit
  • RSI overbought alert – triggered when an RSI overbought signal occurs; traditionally this is when the RSI is greater than 70
  • RSI oversold alert – triggered when an RSI oversold signal occurs; traditionally this is when the RSI is less than 30

Bollinger Bands alerts

  • Bollinger Bands bullish signal alert – triggered when the asset's latest price crosses below the asset's lower bollinger band (20, 2); this is generally considered a bullish signal
  • Bollinger Bands bearish signal alert – triggered when the asset's latest price crosses above the asset's upper bollinger band (20, 2); this is generally considered a bearish signal

  • Death cross alert – triggered when a death cross pattern occurs, specifically when the 200-day moving average is above the 50-day moving average
  • Golden cross alert – triggered when a gold cross pattern occurs, specifically the 200-day moving average is below the 50-day moving average

How often are alert triggers checked?

Every few seconds we match current price data (streamed) with your alarms set.

How many securities are supported on Stock Alarm?

Over 65,000 assets are supported and continually adding more. This includes US stocks, international stocks, cryptocurrencies, ETFs, Forex, commodities, mutual funds, major indices, and more!

Why are the extended hours prices 15 minutes delayed for Nasdaq?

There is a 15 minute delay due to the limitations of our data source. This only applies to Nasdaq stocks, all other stocks are real time during extended hours trading. That being said, Nasdaq will usually stream in real-time as expected but we are legally required to show this disclaimer for Nasdaq.

What is the pricing for Stock Alarm?

We have a free tier for basic usage. For the limits and other tiers please take a look at our pricing at https://app.stockalarm.io.pricing.

Why can't I see my stock exchange?

We have deals with the exchanges to directly use their data. Including any extra exchanges not supported is something we’re considering but do not have actively planned for the coming period. If you’re missing an exchange please let us know at support@stockalarm.io.

Will there be support for stock derivatives like options?

We’re working on adding support for stock derivatives including options and futures in the future.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes we do. Many of our users already scored multiple free months of gold by referring others. Stock Alarm has launched this referral program for free-tier users only at this time, you can gain free months of Stock Alarm gold by referring your friends via your custom shareable link in the settings tab on the mobile app. By participating in this program, you are automatically agreeing to our referral program's terms of service.

How can I cancel my premium subscription?

If you subscribed on our iOS app, please open this link on your iOS device.

If you subscribed on our Android app, please open this link on your Android device.

If you subscribed on our web app, you can visit app.stockalarm.io to cancel your subscription from the billing portal (Settings -> Billing).

What happens with an alert after it gets triggered?

We will immediately notify you when an alert get triggered. After that the alert will be in an active state. Will the alert go back to an inactive state and then trigger again, we will notify you again. An example: you have an upper limit set at $100 with the current price $95. The moment the alert will go above $100 we will notify you. If the price drops below $100 and later moves above $100 again, we will notify you again. We will notify you at most 1 time per 20 minutes to account for noisy alerts.

If two call alerts trigger at the same time, will I be called twice?

Yes! Stock Alarm will notify you for every alert that gets triggered, if two call alerts trigger at the same time, you will receive two back to back phone calls.

Stock Alarm emailed me that I blacklisted you. What can I do to undo that?

Due to regulations that we abide by, you have the ability to blacklist us by sending a text 'STOP’ to the number we call and/or text you from. If you want to revert the blacklisting of our phone number you can text ‘START’ to be able to receive texts and calls again.
